Vool has a packed December coming up. The travelling shop will be popping up in different locations every weekend giving you loads of opportunities to stock up on vegan goodies.
If you are also expecting December to be a busy month then why not order from the ? We can post goodies out to you, or you can pay online and collect from a pop-up event.
The end of November and start of December sees Vool appear 3 times in the town centre. We’re so busy that Saturday 30 November is our last Saturday on Colchester Market until 21 December!
But Vool will be at the Friday market on the High Street every week. You’ll also be able to find us in Colchester on 14 December at the Essex Vegan Festival, and at Caffe Sala on 1 December as part of the South Lanes Christmas Market. And as usual, the Shop-in-a-Suitcase will appear at Colchester Vegan Drinks.
Meet Schnouggi. Schnouggi is a chunk of hazel praline and is soooo cute. But at 28g isn’t Schnouggi a teeny bit on the small side? Or does he punch above his weight?
Schnouggi is served in a little tray with a clear plastic sleeve and a paper sticker. Given that Schnouggi isn’t that exciting to look at – it’s brown and smooth – a less opaque wrapping would be fine. Or may that’s the point?
As previously mentioned Schnouggi is small, smooth and brown. It looks like a naked Miky Way or an escapee block of Vego bar that rejected being filled with nuts.
Happily, it makes up for all this in taste and flavour. The tantalising aroma as the packet is opened was amazing. I couldn’t decide whether to instantly gobble the whole thing or just sit there sniffing the wrapper for the next our.
As far as the taste and texture goes it’s rich smooth praline but without out any of the chocolate nonsense that normally coats it. It slips down the throat far too easily. While it’s tempting to take large bites a thin slice delivers the same flavour experience!
Good to know
Schnoggi is free from gluten and soy.
You can from the Vool online shop for £2
Schnouggi is small but powerful. Ideal for serving in small slices and savouring.
Wow, June was a busy month with plenty of fairs and our regular Colchester market stall on a Friday. Vool took part in Chelmsford Vegan Fair, Coggeshall’s monthly Feel Good Fair, popped up at Waffle On in Clacton and did a tofu making demonstration at Planet Essex at Cressing Temple Barns. If you missed the demo but you would like to know more have a look at the video version in our YouTube channel.
July is all about Colchester Market before we pop off on our holidays at the end of the month. Sadly we’ll be missing the Vegan Fair in Colchester on 27 July but that doesn’t mean you can’t go. To find out more visit the event page on Facebook.
Of course, the online shop will still be open for your browsing and purchasing a pleasure. Don’t forget we can post your goodies out to you from just £3.50. Meanwhile shelves virtual and actual will be well stocked in preparation for Southend Vegan Fair at the start of August.
Where can you find Vool in June 2019? Well, it’s an action-packed month for us with lots of opportunities for you to catch up with your favourite purveyors of vegan goodies.
On the market
After a couple of trial sessions on Colchester Market, we will now be trading there on Fridays – although do check the Where to Find Vool page as there might be the odd day off! You can find the Vool stall outside Barclays Bank from 8.30 – 4.
Chelmsford Vegan Fair is on 8 June and is at the Cricket Ground. The following week our monthly drinks meet up takes place at the Queen Street Brewhouse – and the shop-in-a-Suitcase will be there. It’ll also be an Organic Alex food night!
And, of course, we’re squeezing in another pop-up at Waffle On on 29 June. I’m already thinking about what to enjoy for lunch.
. If you can’t make it to an event in June 2019 then we can post out to you. If you can then order your goodies in advance to ensure we don’t run out and collect on the day.
Vool has a whole load of outings in May 2019 to allow you maximum browsing opportunities. Plus the events we take part in are usually filled with other fun things to do! And remember if you can’t make it any of the events we are at then you can order your vegan goodies online.
We kick off the month at Sudbury Vegan Fair on Saturday 4 May. This was a terrific fair last year with lots of interesting stalls. We see no reason why this year shouldn’t be even better!
On Sunday 7 April we return to the Feel Good Fair in Coggeshall with our usual selection of goodies. Held at Honywood School, the theme this month is tread lightly travel – just the thing to get you in the mood for holiday preparations. Entry is free and the event runs from 11 -3. More information on the Feel Good Fair can be found on Facebook.
Following our successful pop up at Waffle On in March we’re considering dates for April. So far Saturday 20 April is looking good – not least because we can’t think of a better way to spend an Easter Saturday! Keep an eye on our Where to find Vool page for confirmation of the date.
Order in advance
Ever turned up at an event to find that your favourite goodies have already been sold? Maybe it turned out great and tried something new and delicious. Or maybe you felt sad that you missed out (while enjoying a few more delicious hours of slumber). Fear not – order in advance and collect at the event. Just select the ‘local collection’ option at check out.
Vool have popped up at Waffle On in Clacton before and had a delightful time. Hence it was a great location for our first pop up of 2019.
While it’s always lovely to get out and about with our array of goodies while chatting other vegans we did have an ulterior motive.
Yes! We are ruled by our bellies and were tempted by the thought of buying our lunch from Waffle On’s extensive menu of vegan junk food.
Still it wasn’t all us stuffing our faces (although we might just have skipped dinner). Our table was crammed with products old and new – thanks to a supplier order arriving on Friday night. And what products went down well with Clacton Vegans? Pernigotti Gianduiotto snack bars were popular as ever. Cult brand Candy Kittens jelly sweets were well received in sour watermelon and fizzy peach flavours. Plus our new filled vegan pasta in 3 flavours must have graced a few dinner dishes on Saturday.
And up next?
Find out when Vool will next be popping up at Waffle On and other locations by visiting our ‘Where to Find Vool‘ page. And don’t forget you can indulge your junk food craving anytime by visiting Waffle On – or ordering from .
